Introduction: Langkap, Perak

The town of Langkap is a sleepy town or 'pekan' we call it in Malays language. It is located in the crossroads of 3 major trunk roads from places like Teluk Intan, Ipoh and Kampar. Once upon a time it was a little laid back but due to the oil palm boom in recent years, people there are pretty much well off and have more money than they could spend. It's a Chinese town with the malay kampongs on the outskirts, surrounded by oil palm estates and paddy fields. A lot of people would not have been to this place except for people passing by from Teluk Intan to Ipoh or salespersons travelling in that area. Not to mention some good food ^^ (pls refer to http://travel-tramping.blogspot.com/2012/01/langkap-choong-kong-restaurant.html)

Below is the map showing the location of Langkap:

Its approximately 28km from Teluk Intan and 68 km from Ipoh. Well, rumours have it that a new highway may pass through Langkap. Then, Langkap will be a bustling town then. Well, that's Malaysia. They can talk till the cows come home and the highway is still a dream. LOL!

Teluk Intan - Chee Cheong Fan

Today i got to try the chee cheong fan of teluk intan. Famous some people say and tasty too.

Verdict: its nice and good. Must try if u drop by teluk intan.

Langkap - Choong Kong Restaurant

One particular dish of interest was the Butter Fish. Usually its butter chicken or prawn. They cut the fish into cultlets / fillet and then fry it in the butter + egg. Nice and tasty dish. For those dropping by in Langkap, can go try this dish which apparently is a popular local dish.

Introduction: Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia

My next work travel destination is a town in Perak called Teluk Intan. I have travelled to this town several times over the last few years, both for work and leisure. I took my wife here for the first time a couple years back during one of those road trips (maybe one day i will blog about it) around West Malaysia.

Of course the famous things are like the leaning tower of Teluk Intan, Chee Cheong Fan and 'Heong Peng'.

Click this link for more info on Teluk Intan and its places of interests and local delicacies.

The location of Teluk Intan is located to the northwest of Kuala Lumpur, approximately 180 km distance. However, it takes like 2 hours 30 minutes of leisure driving due to the fact that the town is located about 40km from the main North-South Highway.

Next post will be all about the latest hotel in town which i am staying, Hotel Grand Court. Till next time!
